What is POAP?
POAP is a Proof of Attendance Protocol that helps in minting a token or badge in our cryptocurrency wallet as proof that we have attended a specific event by making use of blockchain technology.
The token or badge is awarded free of charge to an event attendee without having to pay any gas fees for minting it. These minted tokens reside in the xDai sidechain where you can view token information
For minting these tokens in mainnet, you have to pay the required gas fees.
Only one token or badge can be minted from one wallet for a specific event, as they are only proof of participation.
The POAP platform provides various functions through POAP APIs such as:-
1. Helps us to create events and provides us with minting links. These minting links could be provided to event participants to redeem their tokens for participating in that event.
2. We can set a deadline for claimable tokens or badges so that the tokens or badges could be minted only for that particular time frame.
3. The creator of the event can request any number of mintable tokens or badges and distribute them to the event attendees.
